lifetime workmanship warranty

  1. Eligibility:
  1. Warranty Activation:
    • The lifetime warranty becomes effective upon the successful completion of the installation by WestOz Trades.
  1. Annual Servicing Requirement:
    • To maintain the lifetime warranty, the customer is required to schedule and undergo annual servicing of their air conditioning system by WestOz Trades and be put onto our AirCare Maintenance Plan.
    • Failure to adhere to the annual servicing requirement may void the lifetime warranty.
  1. Scope of Annual Servicing:
    • Annual servicing includes a comprehensive inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of the installed air conditioning system to ensure its proper functioning.
    • Any necessary repairs or replacements of parts or components identified during servicing will be conducted at the customer’s expense.
  1. Coverage under Lifetime Warranty:
    • The lifetime warranty covers defects in workmanship related to the original installation performed by WestOz Trades.
    • It does not cover normal wear and tear, damage caused by misuse, neglect, or unauthorized modifications.
    • The warranty does not extend to the air conditioning system itself, which is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
  1. Warranty Claims:
    • To file a warranty claim, customers must contact WestOz Trades and provide detailed information about the issue.
    • WestOz Trades will evaluate the claim and, if deemed valid, will repair or replace the defective workmanship at no charge.
  1. Limitations:
    • WestOz Trades reserves the right to deny warranty claims if servicing records are not maintained, annual servicing is skipped, or the system shows signs of tampering or misuse.
  1. Transferability:
    • The lifetime warranty is transferable to subsequent property owners if the air conditioning system remains installed in the same property.
  1. Termination:
    • WestOz Trades reserves the right to terminate the lifetime warranty if the customer breaches the terms and conditions.
  1. Amendment of Terms:
    • WestOz Trades may amend these terms and conditions with reasonable notice to customers.
  1. Governing Law:
    • These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Western Australia.

manufacturer’s warranty

All new systems are backed by a 5 year manufactures warranty. If a system is still in the 5-year manufacturer’s warranty period and WestOz Trades supplied & installed the system, we will organise the warranty claim through the manufacturer. In most cases we will carry out the manufacturer’s warranty works ourselves to ensure speed of repair is priority, if the system was installed by another contractor in most cases, we can still lodge the warranty claim, we will just require the installers invoice along with required serial and model numbers as per guidelines.

spare part warranty

For repair works carried out by WestOz Trades, In most cases this is dependent on the individual part being installed or replaced, on most occasions spare part warranty is 12 months from manufacturers.

  • Reverse cycle Spare Parts, including PCBs & Fan motors etc – 12-month warranty

refrigerant leak warranty

If the system was installed by WestOz Trades and is within its warranty, all refrigerant leaks are covered from the Manufacturers and WestOz Trades workmanship side. 

If WestOz Trades repair a refrigerant leak on an older system outside of the 5-year warranty period, we offer 12-month warranty on the repair, only if the repair location is the same spot or component we originally diagnosis. 

As systems get older, additional potential leak spots can appear in multiple areas such as pipe work between the systems and older components. If the leak is from a new location our normal rates apply.

We are transparent regarding our refrigerant repairs, and if we cannot identify the leak with our leak detectors and checklists, we will notify the client with best steps forward.

Unfortunately, every leak is different and needs to be approached different for the best outcome, some more labour intensive than others.
